Education

United Way of Davidson County invests in programs that provide mentoring, tutoring, and after-school care for students in Davidson County. Programs that effectively encourage school readiness, school success and the lowering of the high school dropout rate and increasing the graduation rate.

United Way of Davidson County funds programs that provide medical services, mental health services, and prescription medications to those who cannot afford them.  We invest in programs that treat and prevent domestic violence and substance abuse.

United Way of Davidson County funds programs that provide basic essentials to distressed individuals and families (food, clothing, rent, and utilities), programs that help elderly citizens and children, programs that help with home repair, and assistance/training for those affected by job loss.

Advancing the common good is less about helping one person at a time and more about changing systems to help all of us. We are all connected and interdependent. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, when people are healthy.
