Are you interested in volunteering and giving back to your community? The United Way is an expert in bringing our community together. We have a variety of ways that you can volunteer! See below to get connected!
EMERGING LEADERS SOCIETY
What are Emerging Leaders? The United Way's Emerging Leaders Society is a group of passionate, community-focused, emerging professionals who want to connect with like-minded peers, serve their community, and develop as leaders for change. Emerging Leaders are typically under 40 years old, or young at heart, and engage in a wide variety of volunteer projects, networking conversations, social events, and professional development opportunities. LOANED EXECUTIVE PROGRAM
What is a Loaned Executive? Loaned Executives are volunteers who serve as an extension of the United Way staff during the months of August - November. Their primary responsibility is to be the liason between local companies and businesses and the United Way. They deliver materials, coordinate campaigns, arrange agency speakers/tours, and ensure that each account has everything they need to run a successful campaign. Please click here to contact Kristie Hege, our Campaign Director to learn more about how you can get involved!
FUND DISTRIBUTION VOLUNTEER
What is a FD Volunteer? Fund Distribution volunteers are responsible for reviewing, evaluating and ultimately making funding decisions for agencies who apply for United Way Funding. Volunteers are trained in October and assigned to a panel. Each panel is assigned 3-4 agencies. They review each agency application and come together in December to hear agency presentations. Funding recommendations are made and presented to the United Way Board of Directors for final approval. This process is eye-opening and allows volunteers to see the impact United Way and their partner agencies has in our community. Email Kirsten Jones for more information about this opportunity.
WEEK OF CARING
What is the Week of Caring? United Way coordinates the largest community-wide volunteer event in September each year. UW solicits non-profits in Davidson County for work projects such as; landscaping, cleaning, painting as well as collection projects such as; food drives & personal hygiene drives. We then reach out to local companies/businesses to match them with those projects! What a wonderful way to give back! Email Kirsten Jones to find out how your company can get involved!
